1. The DogSmith "Puppy Pack" Programs
Puppy Socialization Solutions - This is a one-time group orientation lesson for new puppy owners designed to support the socialization of puppies and the education of new owners. Families are encouraged to attend.
Small Paw Etiquette - A 6 week group class for puppies less than 6 months old. This class covers canine social skills, housetraining, crate training, bite inhibition, responsible ownership, leash introduction and simple commands like Sit!, Down!, Stay & Leave it!.
2. Pet Dog Training

Teen Dog Etiquette* - This 8 week curriculum is designed for dogs ranging from 6 to 8 months old that missed Small Paw Etiquette and for owners who have no verbal control of their dog and/or their dog has little to no social skills. This class teaches behaviors like; 'Sit!', 'Down!', 'Come!', 'Walk Nicely!' and 'Stay!' The class also focuses on teaching dogs canine social skills.
Pet Dog Etiquette* - An 8 week curriculum designed for dogs older than 6 months. This class focuses on behaviors such as; 'Sit!', 'Down!', 'Come!', 'Stay!', 'Walk Nicely!', 'Stand!' & 'Leave It!'
Teach Your Dog to Become an 'AKC Canine Good Citizen'®
DogSmith Solutions*-A comprehensive 8 week class that culminates with the AKC "Canine Good Citizen"® test. The 10-step test includes:
- Accepting a stranger
- Sitting for petting
- Accepting gentle grooming
- Basic obedience (Sit! Down! Stay! and Come!)
- Polite leash walking
- Confidence around distractions
- And much more!
3. Choose From Four DogSmith '6 Week' Group Classes Focusing on a Single Skill
- Off-Leash Etiquette - This course focuses on advanced handling, off-leash behaviors like "out-of-sight stay," distance recall, off-leash heeling, and introduces distance and duration to behaviors. This class is designed to enhance the owner's mechanics and gives them a more scientific knowledge of training.
- Snap-Back Recall - This class focuses on developing a reliable emergency recall progressing from instant name recognition to a snap-back recall response.
- Walk Nicely - This class focuses on taking 'walking nicely' into a more controlled heel behavior. This class is ideal for owners wanting to eventually advance to ring obedience or to take longer strolls with their dogs.
- Grumpy Dog (Dog-on-Dog Etiquette) - These classes are for dogs that are reactive to other dogs or struggle with their focus in distracting environments. Dogs with severe aggression are not appropriate for this class. Dogs must have a solid foundation in basic obedience.
4. JUST FOR FUN!
- Just for Fun "Clicks 4 Tricks"- This fast moving and fun clicker-based class is for owners who want to develop new tricks and behaviors with their dogs.
- DogSmith "Just for Fun Agility" (available at limited DogSmith locations) - "Just for Fun" agility focuses on FUN! Fun around jumps, tunnels, tables, A-frame and weave poles. This class is a great start if you are not sure about your level of commitment to agility or your dog's suitability.
