The DogSmith National Dog Training center is the home of DogSmith Agility and Advanced Obedience Skills Training. In addition to the wide selection of Pet Dog Obedience Skills and "Just for Fun" Agility offered by your local DogSmith Franchise more advanced programs are available at The DogSmith Dog Training Center.

Among the program available, The DogSmith Training Center hosts Advanced Obedience Training to support distance handling skills for dog performance sports and we take Agility to the competitive level with a big injection of fun.

Dog Agility Classes in Oxford MS

"Just for Fun" Dog Agility Classes
"Just for Fun" agility focuses on FUN! Fun around jumps, tunnels, tables, A-frame and weave poles. This class is a great start if you are not sure about your level of commitment to agility or your dog's suitability.

• Cost for 6 week class - $100.00
• Dogs must be at least 12 months old.

Beginner Dog Agility Classes
The beginner agility class requires that your dog has some very basic obedience skills. Your dog must also be reliable with other dogs and strangers. You and your dog will have a lot more fun and be more successful if your dog enters the class with the correct skills. If your dog is not reliable with a 'sit'/'stay', does not have a reliable recall or does not happily focus on you during training sessions then please complete a DogSmith obedience class before registering for the beginner agility class. This class covers the key agility obstacles and the correct method to perform each one.

• Dogs must be at least 12 months old

Intermediate Dog Agility Classes
This class is for dogs that are confident and controlled on all obstacles and are ready to do short sequences of obstacles. Emphasis is on developing control of the dog, handling skills, obstacle discrimination, advanced jumping skills and sequence work. This is the next step for dogs graduating from the beginner agility class.

• Cost for 8 week class - $120.00
• Dogs must be at least 12 months old

Advanced Dog Agility
This class is for dogs that are confident and controlled on all obstacles and have graduated from intermediate agility. The emphasis is on handling skills, distance handling, crosses, pivots and more difficult obstacle discrimination and sequence work.

• Cost of 8 week class - $120.00
• Dogs must be at least 16 months old.

Dog Agility 'Drop-In-Class' $10.00 per session
Agility 'Drop in-Classes' are for people who have graduated the intermediate Agility class and are working on more advanced handling. Niki Tudge conducts each class working with individuals to perfect their handling skills and to gain a better understanding of course design. Drop in classes are only available to DogSmith Agility & Obedience Club Members.

DogSmith Dog Training Dog Agility & Obedience Club

Advanced Obedience Class

The DogSmith Dog Training Center periodically holds advanced obedience classes aimed at distance handling for performance dog sports. The prerequisites for enrollment in a DogSmith Advanced Obedience Class are the criteria found in The DogSmith Obedience Skill Card.

The Advanced Dog Obedience Class covers reliable, off-leash recall, 'sit', 'down' and 'stand' when the dog is up to 20 feet away from the owner. Retrieving, 'send away' cue, proofing behaviors, and building distance, duration and distractions into behaviors is also covered.
